"VODA" the water filter

CONTEXT: team project, 2D & 3D Design

TIMELINE: 10 Weeks

 

Challenge

The worldwide sales turnover of BRITA water filter is 617 million in 2020. Over 20 billion liters of water run through BRITA products every year. Although with so many users, many people even BRITA filter owners still question its effectiviness. How might we design a water filter that is reliable, trustworthy, and sustainable?

Opportunity

After interviews, we realized that most users of water filters don't know what contaminants are in their water and what contaminants can their water filter remove. VODA provides a zip-code-based personalized water quality solution.The filter medium is compounded by location and based entirely on the water quality of that location.

"We can't rely on one solution to solve different problems. What we need is a more personalized solution for people living in different areas."

"Instead of encouraging consumers to buy more, we want people to do less excessive consumption. The filter and funnel are designed to fit most water pitchers in the market and can be purchased separately, so consumers can keep using the water pitcher they have."
